Directions:
Bahia Point is located on West Mission Bay near the intersection of
West Mission Bay Drive and Mission Blvd. From West Mission Bay Drive,
turn north onto Gleeson Road (at the stoplight) and follow the road
around the eastern perimeter of the Bahia Resort Hotel, past the restrooms.
SCRA launches towards the northern tip of Bahia Point. There is plenty
of parking, lawn for rigging, and a short distance to the water across
a sandy beach.
Monthly regattas are usually held on the 1st Sunday
of the month, September through May and the 1st Saturday, June through
August. The schedule is subject to change due to holiday and special
event conflict. The races are sailed on west Mission Bay (Sail Bay),
San Diego, CA. The launch area is towards the north end of Bahia Point
on the east side of the Bahia Resort Hotel. Skipper's meeting is 11:30am;
with five or more back to back races beginning at noon. Awards and refreshments
on the beach conclude the day's racing. High Point Skipper Award is
presented at the annual holiday banquet.
